Small groups

In the beginning... God created small groups

Jesus founded His world changing movement around a small group of twelve people. The early followers of Jesus met both in Synagogues and in small home groups (Acts 2:46-47) so you see, small groups have always been an important part of the plan of God.

At PUC we believe that the primary goal of a Christian small group is to help you grow to maturity in Christ. Friendship, fun or even finding a prospective life partner is all a part of small group life but wanting to grow to maturity in Christ is the reason to join. Small groups exist to equip you in sharing your faith and serving the community around you.

At Pittwater Uniting Church:

If Christ is our Foundation - Small groups are the slab floor on which everything else rests
In small groups members find a closer, more personal and more effective way to grow in Christ.

Small groups provide opportunities to:

Engage with God and with others
Grow in maturity
Go into the community to serve

As well as

Building authentic friendships
Caring for one another

The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
